Genergy was the preferred supplier to the Kuyasa CDM project. Kuyasa is South Africa’s first internationally registered Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project under the Kyoto Protocol on climate change and was the first Gold Standard Project to be registered in the world.  The project has generated substantial interest internationally, and will pilot the potential for the energy-efficient adaptation of South African low-cost housing.

List of current projects:

Northam Platinum Mines: Supply and installation of large scale solar thermal for the supply of hot water to the mining hostels. Genergy is already heating in excess of  72800L

Xstrata Mines: Xtrata Alloys SA - Elands Platinum Mine
Hybrid Solar-Aerothermal Water Heating Solution
The directive to Genergy for this project was to design, supply and commission a Large Scale Water Heating System for Xstrata’s Eland Platinum Mine that delivers sufficient hot water under all conditions at maximum energy efficiency; provides detailed reporting systems on the system efficiency; and has back-up for power supply failures.
The system consists of 160 EVT Solar Collectors and 4 Backup HP. It is designed to meet the daily requirement of 105 120 litres hot water at 38°C. Hot water storage at 60
degC / 60 000 litres.

Unilever SA – Boksburg: Solar Water Heating Solution

The directive to Genergy for this project was to design, supply and commission a Large Scale Water Heating System for Unilever SA - Boksburg that delivers sufficient hot water to a steam pre heating facility.
The system consists of 50 EVT Solar Collectors spread across 320 square meters. The system was designed to supply hot water at minimal heat loss over a distance of more than 70 metres. The system has a storage capacity of 35 000 litres

CEF: Genergy has qualified as a supplier to the CEF program. The project objectives are to promote Solar Water Heating, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to the atmosphere. ETA Energy is rolling out a National SWH Programme, and NMBM will be the first city for implementation of SWHs

Eskom: Genergy has received an order to supply and install 6000 low pressure solar water heaters in Orlando East. The project is due to commence January 2011.
